ILSPAN, founded in 1976, is a component society of the American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) serving perianesthesia nurses in Illinois and eastern Missouri.
Our mission, like ASPAN's, is to unite perianesthesia nurses to promote quality and cost-effective care for our patients, their families and the community through public and professional education, research and standards of practice. For a copy of our Bylaws, click here.
ILSPAN is divided into three geographic districts. District I encompasses the state above I-80. District II is roughly the area below I-80 to a line from Hannibal, Missouri to Paris, Illinois. District III includes downstate Illinois and eastern Missouri. You can read all the news for ILSPAN and the individual districts in the current issue of Peri-Scope.
